Graduate Programme

Join the South African Reserve Bank’s 2026 Graduate Programme.
Are you a passionate postgraduate eager to make a real impact on South Africa’s economy? The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) invites you to immerse yourself in a one year journey—from February 2026 to January 2027—where you’ll learn, grow, and contribute to the heart of our nation’s financial stability.

Why the SARB Matters

At the SARB, we safeguard the value of the rand and champion balanced, sustainable economic growth. Every day, we:
• Shape monetary policy by setting interest rates to keep inflation steady.

• Monitor the financial system to nip systemic risks in the bud.
• Design and distribute South African banknotes and coins.
• Regulate banks and financial institutions to promote resilience.
• Manage our gold and foreign exchange reserves.

You’ll be part of a team whose work underpins every transaction, every loan, and every policy decision that drives our country forward.

What You’ll Experience

From day one, you’ll be based at SARB’s Head Office in Pretoria. You’ll join a dedicated department—perhaps in Monetary Policy, Financial Stability, Currency Management or one of our support functions—and tackle hands on projects that matter.

Grow Your Skills
Through tailored workshops at the SARB Academy, you’ll sharpen both technical and “soft” skills:
• Master central banking fundamentals such as policy analysis and financial regulation

• Hone your public speaking and presentation prowess
• Learn to craft compelling reports and powerful PowerPoints

• Build teamwork, leadership, and professional etiquette
By programme’s end, you’ll not only understand the machinery of a central bank—you’ll be a confident, articulate professional ready for bigger challenges.
