About the Role

As a Pharmacy Sales Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in the smooth and professional running of our retail pharmacy operations. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include assisting customers, handling sales transactions, maintaining store presentation, and ensuring that the customer experience is friendly, efficient, and helpful. This is more than just a job—it’s about being part of a team that puts people first.

You’ll greet every customer with a warm smile, help identify their needs, and recommend suitable products that promote health and wellness. You’ll also be responsible for preventing stock loss, maintaining clean displays, and keeping the sales floor organized and appealing.

What You’ll Do

• Handle customer purchases at the Point of Sale (POS) and ensure accurate processing of payments.
• Balance daily sales receipts and ensure compliance with store cash handling procedures.
• Offer professional advice and product recommendations based on customer needs.
• Restock shelves and ensure products are correctly priced and displayed.

• Conduct price checks and audits to identify and correct any discrepancies.
• Stay up to date with the latest promotions, health products, and special offers.
• Maintain store cleanliness and presentation through regular housekeeping.
• Respond to customer queries promptly and escalate issues to management when needed.
• Support visual merchandising efforts to attract and engage customers.

Requirements

Minimum Qualification:
• Grade 12 / Matric certificate (essential)
Experience:
• A minimum of 5 months’ experience at a retail till point or POS system.
• Proven track record in retail sales within a pharmacy or related retail environment.

Skills and Knowledge:
• Computer literate with a working knowledge of retail POS systems.
• Bilingual (Afrikaans and English preferred) with excellent communication skills.
• Customer-centric attitude with a friendly and engaging personality.
• Familiarity with cash, card, voucher, and coupon payment methods.

• Understanding of stock receiving and retail merchandising standards.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
