The Role- Customer Service Representative

As a Client Service Officer (UIF), you will be the first point of contact for UIF applicants. You’ll guide claimants through the UIF process, accurately process applications and continuation forms, and ensure a positive experience for every client.

Key Responsibilities- Customer Service Representative

• Greet and assist clients—face‑to‑face and by telephone—with professionalism and courtesy
• Conduct initial screening of UIF benefit applications
• Accurately process and register payment continuation forms

• Maintain electronic records and perform general administrative duties
• Provide on‑the‑job training support for new team members
• Uphold departmental policies, procedures and the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) customer service representative.

Who We’re Looking For: Minimum Requirements

• National Senior Certificate (Grade 12)
• No previous work experience required—enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are essential!

Knowledge & Skills- Customer Service Representative

• UIF Legislation: Unemployment Insurance Act, Contributions Act, related regulations
• Financial & Public Sector Frameworks: PFMA, Treasury Regulations
• Customer Service Representative: Batho Pele, customer‑care best practices, strong verbal and written communication. Customer Service Representative.

• Technical: Basic computer literacy (MS Office, e‑mail systems)
• Interpersonal: Active listening, telephone etiquette, time‑management, analytical thinking
