About the Role
As a General Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in the physical handling, movement, and accurate documentation of the University’s assets. Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, candidates must meet the following criteria:
• Matric (Grade 12) certificate
• At least 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in a university or similar institutional setting
• Computer literacy – you should be comfortable working with asset tracking systems and basic software
• A valid South African Driver’s Licence plus a Professional Driving Permit (PrDP)
• A valid Forklift Licence – essential for moving heavy or large items safely
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including after-hours tasks when necessary

• Helping enforce institutional asset management policies and procedures across departments
• Supporting different faculties and departments in their asset-related needs and usage
• Minimizing asset risks by adhering to and promoting safe storage and handling practices
