About the Yes4Youth (Gauteng) Initiative

Yes4Youth is a government-backed youth employment programme designed to equip unemployed South African youth (aged 18–29) with on-the-job training, mentorship, and career launchpads in high-growth sectors. Our Gauteng arm offers immersive, hands-on roles within DHL’s state-of-the-art Kempton Park hub—ideal for candidates seeking a vibrant entry point into logistics careers.

Your Role: Junior Logistics Operator

As a Junior Logistics Operator, you’ll play a pivotal part in keeping South Africa’s largest logistics hub running smoothly. Reporting to the Team Leader, you will:
• Master Clients’ Requirements: Understand and adhere to the specific delivery, loading, and offloading protocols for a diverse clientele.
• Operate Equipment Safely: Learn to use forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse machinery; proactively inspect equipment and report defects.

• Ensure Cargo Integrity: Report and record any discrepancies in customer merchandise, escalating issues according to standard operating procedures.
• Maintain Operational Zones: Work within designated areas to optimize throughput and safety; adapt to dynamic warehouse layouts as business needs evolve.
• Champion Safety & Compliance: Follow all health, safety, and environmental guidelines; contribute to a zero-incident workplace culture.

Essential Criteria:
• BBEEE-Compliant Youth Candidate: South African citizen, aged 18–29, currently unemployed.
• Academic Qualification: Matric certificate with passes in English and Mathematics or Literacy.
