Department of Justice and Constitutional Development has opened Graduate Internship programs nationwide, from Legal Court, Maintenance Officers, Interpreters, Family Law, Estate Controller, Legal Services, Language Practice, Attorneys, Control Room Operators, Finance, IT and Audit.

1. Legal Court Admin Graduate Internship (X18)

A nationwide legal internship for LLB graduates, offering hands-on experience in court administration. Available in all provinces, this 24-month programme includes a monthly stipend of R7,450.75 and aims to develop future legal support professionals.

2. Maintenance Officers Graduate Internship (X90)

Open to LLB graduates across all provinces, this programme focuses on maintenance investigations within the justice system. Interns receive R7,450.75 monthly for two years while contributing to family law matters and gaining practical insight.

3. Interpreter Graduate Internship (X65)

Ideal for language and interpreting graduates, this 24-month internship offers placements across all nine provinces. Interns will assist court proceedings in local languages and earn R7,450.75 per month while sharpening their linguistic and legal interpretation skills.

4. Family Law Graduate Internship (X20)

Law graduates passionate about family justice can apply for this internship under the Family Advocate branch. Available in all provinces, this programme offers two years of legal training with a stipend of R7,450.75 per month.

5. Estate Controller Internship – Masters Office (X37)

Gain specialized legal experience in estate administration. This internship targets LLB graduates across South Africa, with 24-month positions paying R7,450.75 monthly.

6. Legal Services Graduate Internship – Legislative Development (X2)

Based at the national office, this opportunity offers LLB graduates deep exposure to legislative legal services. The 24-month programme includes a monthly stipend and a chance to support law-making processes.

7. Language Practice Internship – State Law Advisor Office (X2)

For graduates in translation, linguistics, or African languages, this national internship develops language skills within legal advisory contexts. Pays R7,450.75 monthly for 24 months

8. Candidate Attorney – State Attorney Offices (X90)

A comprehensive LLB internship offered across 13 key legal hubs in South Africa. This 24-month programme prepares graduates for legal practice through mentorship and case exposure, with a stipend of R7,450.75 monthly.

9. Candidate Attorney (SASSETA Funded) – X50

This one-year internship is for LLB graduates who have completed or are enrolled in Practical Legal Training (PLT). Funded by SASSETA, it offers R7,000 monthly and legal experience in various provincial offices.

10. Control Room Operators Security Internship (X150)

Open to PSIRA-registered security graduates with Grade 12. This 24-month programme offers R4,000/month and is spread across all provinces and the national office.

11. TVET Internship – Administration (X20)

Targeted at N6 certificate holders in administration fields. Based at the national office, this 18-month internship offers administrative training and a monthly stipend of R4,500.

12. Finance and SCM Graduate Internship (X20)

A national opportunity for graduates in finance, accounting, logistics, and supply chain management. With positions in each province and at the national office, this 24-month internship pays R7,450.75 monthly.

13. IT Coordinators Internship (X28)

Open to IT and software engineering graduates, this 2-year internship develops tech talent for public service. Positions are based in all provinces and at the national office, offering R7,450.75 per month.

14. Internal Audit and Forensic Internship (X10)

For graduates in internal audit or accounting, this 24-month internship at the national office provides training in auditing and forensic analysis with a R7,450.75 monthly stipend.
