About the Role: What You’ll Be Doing

As a Shop Assistant / Cashier jobs at Clicks Riverwalk, your primary responsibility is to provide every customer with a positive, helpful, and efficient shopping experience from the moment they enter the store to the moment they leave.
Your key jobs objectives will include:
• Efficient Point-of-Sale (POS) Operations
Accurately scanning items, processing payments, and handling transactions with care and professionalism — all while ensuring cash is handled securely and responsibly.

• Exceptional Customer Service
Act as a brand ambassador by being friendly, approachable, and helpful to all customers. Promote and enroll customers in our Clicks ClubCard loyalty programme, helping to drive participation and reward loyalty.
• Merchandising & Housekeeping
Maintain store appearance through effective merchandising, stock display, and general tidiness. Ensure shelves are stocked, products are correctly labeled, and promotional displays are up-to-date.

• Promotions Awareness
Stay informed about current promotions, deals, and product launches to help customers find the best value and drive sales.
• Support Store Goals
Work together with your team to meet sales targets, customer satisfaction metrics, and other store objectives. Your energy, attitude, and contribution matter.

What You Need to Succeed

While we believe in training and growing our people, there are a few key requirements to help you hit the ground running.
✅ Minimum Education:
• Grade 12 / Matric certificate (compulsory)
• Subjects such as Mathematics and English with a pass rate of 50% or higher are a strong advantage.
Experience:
• Previous retail or customer service experience in a fast-paced FMCG environment is preferred but not essential — we’re willing to train the right candidates.

Essential Skills and Competencies:
• Basic math and numeracy for handling payments
• Ability to follow instructions and procedures
• Great communication and interpersonal skills
• Time management and organizational ability
• A natural customer orientation — putting people first
• Ability to remain calm under pressure
